I haven't seen neither of them. But the first genre isn't my cup of tea (romance/comedy stated on IMDB) but then I saw Gianna Jun is starred in there (she also had a major role in 'The Thieves'. She's cool so it would be a reason to watch such a genre hehe
What about Japanese movies? Two that come instantly to my mind are Battle Royale and Cold Fish as recommendations.

Well My Sassy Girl is the most iconic korean movie in recent 2 decades, its fun to watch... Japanese movies... there is quite a handful... I'll list some later.. Battle Royale is nice, but I doubt its for everyone's tastebud... btw have you seen Battle Royale 2? Its more messy than the first... But such movies aren't really my cup of tea, I caught Battle Royale years ago by chance not by choice... My hobbies is collecting war movies though...

I've never heard of that movie before but I'll check it out. Yeah I watched BR2 but I'd call the entire movie a mess, it felt like a desperate try to make more money with the topic of the great first one. I watch most genres but I generally like horror and scifi movies the most. Sadly SciFi is like the least common genre among Asian movies. (I don't count all those trashy Godzilla movies ). Like the Kor. 'The Host' was great but it's basically the only SciFi-ish kor. movie I know. Overall I love psychological terror, mindfuck movies like Cold Fish. It's no real horror..but it's atmosphere is deeper, more nightmarish than any Western horror movies.
Have you seen the war movie with BB TOP? manworker recommended that one

Yup I've seen some SAW movies, first one was great, second one a disaster, third ok, fourth meh, stopped watching them after the 4th. I've seen the original Ringu movies and Kairo. When I was around 18 I've watched all those uber gore movies; like Machine Girl, Guinea Pig (probably the worst I've seen), Grotesque (all Jap.) ~but I lost the interest in them. Now I'm more into psy-terror like Cold Fish, that movie was great.
Gomen if that was weirdly written; I meant the war movie with BigBang's TOP

Oh that movie, I haven't catch it yet... not as interesting as Won Bin's Brotherhood... Korean war isn't really as interesting, and korean movies are more focused towards to some key characters rather than the aspect of the war itself... I don't dig everything Korean like all other Kpop fans...

Ah... some many decades back I do watch such gore movies... but now I'm into with more substances... I don't dig everything Korean like all other Kpop fans.I also watched the Art of Devil movies, I think it's Thai gore tho. ^^ Anyway while I still like good horror movies (like some sorta recent French ones) I don't care about the uber 'gory' Jap. movies like 'Tokyo Gore Police' (Sequel to Machine Girl) anymore. Hehe right, KPop fans are crazy and delulu most of the time, they like every crap their biases + scene. I haven't watched and K-Drama tho. The movies I listed in my first post are basically everything I've watched in terms of Asian movies ^^
My most fav. genre is SciFi though, sadly there aren't many great releases. Buut I think the new movie from the director of 'District 9' (which I liked a lot) will come out soon. Here's the new trailer benstack
