They have been successful mixed blood jap of cos... Well they are going for the American style here, very western route... Actually if I'm not wrong, all 3 of them are mixed blood jap... IDK if this is the scouting criteria... but its not that far off... Good command of english is still very irrelevant for Jpop market and Japanese showbiz... they still root on traditional japanese teaching... Maybe Avex is trying to pull a PCD or Destiny's Child concept here.... I can't be very far off No, just Tina is mixed so far. The rest are full Japanese, they just can speak English as well. I don't think so. |

They are not targeting Japanese audiences, they are aiming for mainstream english market. I doubt they can break into US/Euro market even if they have a good command of english. Yeah esp. with all English-market friendly names. I guess they could be successful in the US market with their looks if it's going ot be an uptempo/(maybe dupstep-oriented sh*t what seems to be popular among teens) style. But either way it's too Asian for the US, it's to Westernized for the Jap. market imo..I don't see it happening. ^^ Link me to the release, I wanna see what they're going for though.  The blonde girl doesn't look half-asian at all ^^ |

I thought I'd give them a try but it's just that one song that I kinda like. All other stuff I tried didn't work out for me. (Musume-wise). They're even behing E-girls? I remember you not saying much nice things about them, (if I'm not mistaken ) They have been rapidly declining over the last 5yrs.... well for a long running group its quite expected. Perfume is more for their Kpopish release, which appeals to Kpop. I like the MM before 2005, especially their formation years of 1997-2000... Those are their true music, raising their reputation to no.2 spot behind SPEED. Especially with the "Love Machine", "Love Revolution 21" are my favorite song from them, when its boosting my favorite member Goto Maki... Else there are a shadow of their past fame now, if not because they are still having the legendary name of Morning Musume and under Hello Project!, they would be just an irrelevant group. Since end of 2004 until recently, they can't even managed 100K gold sales.... unlikely when they were selling millions... |

Kitagawa Keiko to hold her first handshake events
 Actress Kitagawa Keiko (26) will be releasing her 1st photo book, '27', on her 27th birthday, August 22. To commemorate its release, she will be holding her first handshake events on August 24 and 25th in Tokyo and Osaka respectively. Kitagawa expressed her joy, saying, "I am very much looking forward to my first handshake events. Until now, I haven't had many opportunities to directly come in contact with my fans, so I am very excited."
