No winners for Morning Musume's new member auditionThe results for Morning Musume's new member audition, "Morning Musume 12 Generation Member 'Mirai Shoujo' Audition", has been revealed. Unfortunately, there was no applicable person chosen become Morning Musume's 12th generation member. Morning Musume producer Tsunku♂ explained his decision. "I was looking for a super star candidate suitable for the name 'Mirai Shoujo' (girl of the future), but I couldn't deny the fact that there was somewhat a lack of ability to perform with the current quality of Morning Musume," he said. "However, it is true that there were a few candidates with the ability to pass if this were the 9th generation auditions." He also revealed, "There were no applicable persons at this time, but I was able to meet people with raw talent! I am very excited, so if they wish, I will have them join 'Hello Pro Kenkyuusei' to gain experience. I will have them gain the ability in preparation for the next appropriate timing." Regarding future plans, Tsunku♂ commented, "When the timing is right, I will hold the 12th generation audition again. I will also announce here that I am thinking about a new unit as an idea of Hello Pro." The new audition will be announced once it's been decided. Morning Musume will release their new single "Wagamama Ki no Mama Ai no Joke / Ai no Gundan" on August 28th. Utada Hikaru comments on her mother's death
On August 26, singer/songwriter Utada Hikaru released an official statement on her mother Fuji Keiko's death. Utada started by saying, "It seems there have been much speculation going around, so please allow me to say a few things at this time." She revealed that her mother had been suffering from a mental illness for a long time, "I was always troubled about what would be the best for her." She also reflected, "Since I was a child, I've watched my mother's illness progress. As her symptoms got worse, her distrust for people, including family, increased. She became unclear of the difference between reality and fantasy, and lost control over her feelings and actions. I was just tossed around, unable to do anything." Regarding her mother's sudden death, Utada expressed, "While I hope that she has been released from her longtime suffering, I feel sadness and regret by her final actions." On her mother before her death, she commented, "She was often misunderstood but... although she was very timid, she was strong spirited, filled with a sense of justice, loved to laugh, mentally quick, impulsive and dangerous like a child, scatterbrained that you couldn't leave her alone, and a very lovely person. Although there are many sad memories, when I think about my mother, I recall her laughing." She wrapped it up with, "I am proud to be my mother's daughter. I am filled with gratitude that I was able to meet her." Finally, Utada thanked her fans saying, "I've received many heart-warming words. I realized that there are many people supporting me. Preview of IU's 'Monday Afternoon' revealed
A preview of IU's 3rd Japanese single, 'Monday Afternoon' has been revealed on the official YouTube channel of Universal Music Japan. The single is set for release on September 11 and in the preview, IU looks as sweet and innocent as ever. She also showcases her beautiful voice. 'Monday Afternoon' will come in 3 different editions. The first is a Limited Edition Type A which includes a CD, DVD, and 17 page color photobook. The second is a Limited Edition Type B which contains a CD, DVD, and 12 page color photobook. The final is the Regular edition which includes the CD with 2 extra tracks (Monday Afternoon Instrumental, Follow the Moon Instrumental) and a sticker. Sadly the former Korean Little Sister is still dreaming of making big in Japan... benstack ch3mist, do you still have faith in her?

Morning Musume's 54th single takes No.1 spot on Oricon weekly chart
 Idol group Morning Musume's 54th single "Wagamama Ki no mama Ai no Joke/Ai no Gundan" (released on August 28) sold 144,000 copies during the first week, taking the No.1 spot on Oricon's weekly single ranking. This marks their 3rd consecutive chart topping singles (14th single in total), and it is the first time in over 11 years for the group to accomplish this, which also means the first ever time for the current members including the leader Michishige Sayumi. Moreover, this is the very first time for Morning Musume to have 3 chart topping singles in one year, since the group made their major debut back in January 1998. With this single, they have renewed their own record of "total number of singles that were ranked in TOP 10" to 54 singles, which is the best record for both male/female and group/solo artists. 9nine to sing opening theme for drama 'Legal High'
 t's been revealed that 9nine will be singing the opening theme song for the 'Legal High' drama sequel (Fuji TV, premieres in October). 'Legal High' is a popular drama that first aired back in 2012 starring Sakai Masato and Aragaki Yui as lawyers. The opening theme (currently untitled) will be released as 9nine's new single on November 20th. Kawashima Umika commented, "I am honored to sing the opening theme for a drama that is loved by many people. I will do my best to liven up the drama!" Nishiwaki Sayaka added, "I'm very very happy and honored! This year marks 9nine's 9th year. We will sing with all our might to be of any help to 'Legal High'!" new jap. SNSD song benstackA lot better than the garbage release last time, let's be honest, 'Love & Girls' was their worst title song of all time. This time they have great outfits colored pants like in Gee, tummies everywhere  cakama It seems like Sooyoung gets a ton more screentime than usual..is she that popular in Japan to justify that? On the other hand Sunny is like non-existent in that vid. |
